Hypnosis can help you to quickly gain control of your fearful reactions and phobias, enabling you to feel calm, relaxed and at ease in the face of objects, situations or people that may have in the past sent you reeling with fear.
Often the aim of hypnosis is not to have you become actually like a certain situation, or thing. The person who has a spider phobia never wants to reach the stage where they befriend house spiders. Instead it is to get you to a level of rational caution, so that you can act in an appropriate manner.
Other issues, such as agoraphobia (fear of being in certain situations such as riding on the bus, or shopping) need to be challenged and overcome completely.
